Settlers burn hundreds of Acres planted with olives, wheat, and barley

A group of extremist settlers burnt on Monday hundreds of acres planted with olive trees, wheat and barley near the Palestinian villages of Burin, Aseera, Tal and and Sorra south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Eyewitnesses reported that the settlers blocked several roads and attacked firefighters who were attempting to reach the burnt fields.

Ali Eid, head of the Burin village council, told the Maan News Agency that the fires consumed olives trees, and large areas planted with wheat and barley.

Also, local sources in Jeet and Farโ€™ata villages, near the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, stated that the settlers set ablaze hundreds of acres planted with wheat.

The sources added that Israeli soldiers did not attempt to stop the settlers and instead protected them and barred Palestinian fire trucks from reaching the burnt lands.

The Civil Administration office in Qalqilia said that its firefighters and civil defense officers were alerted after the first attack took place on Monday morning.

The office added that most of the civil defense and fire-trucks were violently attacked by the soldiers, and some vehicles were set ablaze.

The attacks took place after the Israeli army evacuated an illegal settlement outpost close to Alon Moreh settlement, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus. The evacuated outpost had three caravans.

On Monday morning, six Palestinians were wounded; one seriously, after the settlers attacked Palestinian laborers on the Nablus-Qalqilia road.

    A simple question, since the article didn’t make it clear – were those fields and orchards owned and/or planted by the displaced settlers or unrelated to in any way to outpost near Alon Moreh?

    I doubt they were trying to commit insurance fraud by burning their own fields, no they are Palestinian fields.

    Well that’s pretty damn vile and petty. I can easily think of things that are worse than burning the fields and orchards, but those things, while easy to think of, aren’t that numerous.

    I could have understood them burning fields that they planted if they were being displaced. I would have done the same myself to deny the enemy the fruit of my labor, but to burn someone else’s crops out of revenge is an act of evil.

    They were Palestinian fields. My sweetheart’s Mom still lives in Nablus and said it was pretty vile. I wish he would get her out of there but she refuses to leave her home that she lived in since forever. Even the old ladies are feisty and resist these arses.

    These creatures in the settlements are scum fanatics from all parts of the globe but primarily Russia and the US. Thank Seagrams owner Bronfman for the Russians because he arranged a “grain for Jews” deal so that those leaving Russia HAD to go to Israel. So he saved the rest of us from the scum, but the Palestinians pay for it.

    They are dangerous. One reason I believe the IDF let them get away with things is because they, too, are scared of the armed settlers. That is not a joke. Those critters are just as antagonistic to the IDF as they are to anyone else.

    And you Americans pay for their settlement plus the hefty bonuses they get for living where they do.. oh and construction charges for their settlement homes. Meanwhile, your own lose jobs and live in tent cities. Meanwhile, the bankers also take away more and more loot.

    I dunno, stop paying taxes? I know Bill Cooper had a company he advertised on his radio shows that could do this with/for you. This mess in Israel will not go away and those settlements are created purposefully to make the two state solution untenable. That has been the goal from the beginning.

    I know this might sound harsh but his mother is correct by staying there, for she is not only preserving her right but the right of others by refusing to run off due to Israeli brutal tactics.

    Some of these settlers are totally psychotic; you don’t know what makes them go on a rampage.

    Yep, Americans should let go of “Israel” they will be so better off without it.

    Well it looks like we have Muslim vermin (Hamas), firing rockets at civilian targets, and Jewish vermin (Some of these settlers), burning people’s crops, going at it tooth and nail.

    Sadly, there’s half-way decent people on both sides caught in the middle.

    “some” = 99.9% of them and that .1% are all under 3 months of age.

    I fear Obama’s overtures are no more than a divide n conquer good guy/bad guy ploy in motion. That snake oil salesman is no different than Busch. Well, Busch bullied his way, Obama charms and reaches into your pocket while you look at his tricks. I cannot see his Jewish handlers, such as Rahm Emmanuel, gay pit bull of the white house, letting him let go of much at all.

    I agree Barbara, but I was differentiating between the psychotic settlers and the majority of them who are racist thieves. The difference being the former acts without any rationality or planning while the latter actions are purposeful to hurt others like Lieberman for example.

    I agree about Obama, the US admin. are like a man who keeps shooting himself in the foot over and over again wondering why is he still in pain.

    I told you before jonolan that there is no such thing as an Israeli civilian except children who haven’t reached high school.

    Besides, you canโ€™t compare the two, Hamas was created to resist an occupation while settlers are immigrant thieves who live off others.
