Israel’s Jerusalem District Committee for Planning and Building has put an outline to connect the Jewish quarter in the Old Town Square with Al-Buraq Square through building underground elevators and corridors, the report added.
For its part, the Israeli Municipality has established a new road to link between the occupied city of Jerusalem and Ma’aleh Adumim settlement.

Israeli female soldiers defile Aqsa Mosque
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Dozens of Israeli female soldiers under police protection desecrated on Monday morning the courtyard of the Aqsa Mosque.
According to the Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage, about 60 Jewish women in military uniform walked around in the courtyard in a provocative way.
This incident raised the ire of the Palestinian visitors and scholars who were inside the Mosque compound and started to shout religious slogans to protest the soldiers’ violation of the sanctity of the Islamic holy place.
The Aqsa foundation stated that this violation was part of the comprehensive campaign that was escalated lately by the Israeli government and its institutions to intensify and diversify the daily Jewish break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque.
J’lem figures warns of Shin Bet attempts to create fait accompli at Aqsa Mosque
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Palestinian national and religious figures denounced as “serious” the declared involvement of the Shin Bet in the break-ins and violations which are carried out daily by Israeli settlers and rabbis at the Aqsa Mosque.
Azzam Al-Khatib, director of the Jerusalem Islamic waqf, told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the waqf authority would not allow any extremist Jew to perform Talmudic rituals in the courtyard of the Aqsa Mosque, stressing that the Mosque is a purely Islamic holy site.
Khatib added that the waqf authority and the Muslim worshipers would resist any attempt by the Israeli government and its institutions to push the situation towards a religious strife in Jerusalem.
“They forcibly enter the Aqsa Mosque on a daily basis at the instigation of rabbis and others, and today they reveal more about these break-ins and talk about incitement exercised by the Shin Bet, but we will not allow any attempt to impose a fait accompli on the ground,” he emphasized.
For his part, Sheikh Mohamed Hussein, the grand mufti of Jerusalem, said the involvement of the Shin Bet in the break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque vindicated further that the holy Mosque is violated at the behest of the Israeli political and security institutions and not only rabbis.
Sheikh Hussein stressed that the Palestinian people in Jerusalem are fully alert to the Israeli schemes against Jerusalem and its holy sites and determined to defend it against any looming dangers.
Hatem Abdul-Qader, director of Jerusalem affairs, warned in this regard that the Shin Bet scandal proved that there are attempts by the Israeli occupation regime and its wings to create a fait accompli at the Aqsa Mosque by dividing it.
He said that the Jerusalemite authorities would act immediately to control the situation and would prevent by all means the Jewish settlers and Israelis from performing rituals at the Aqsa Mosque.
These Palestinian reactions took place after a senior Jewish rabbi had disclosed that the internal intelligence agency Shin Bet incites and pressures the Jewish groups to intensify their (unwelcomed) visits to the Aqsa Mosque to perform rituals.
450 haemophilia patients in Palestine face problems in treatment
RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Jad Taweel, chairman of the board of directors for Palestinian Society for Bleeding Disorders (PSBD) said there are 450 haemophilia patients in Palestine facing severe problems in treatment.
Taweel pointed in press statement on Saturday to the patients’ inability to afford the high costs of treatment, the high incidence of the condition in the Palestinian territories and the lack of treatment in Palestinian hospitals.
He explained that in case of ordinary bleeding, a patient with haemophilia needs 25 therapeutic units at a cost of up to $2,500 per month.
He added: “Unfortunately, coagulation factors are not available on a regular basis for the treatment of haemophilia patients. There are no specialized care services for these patients, according to international protocols, and this increases the suffering of the patients.”
Haemophilia is a hereditary disorder that impairs the body’s ability to control blood clotting or coagulation, which is used to stop bleeding when a blood vessel is broken.
A haemophilia patient bleeds longer even from the simplest bruises and wounds.
Islamic-Christian committee condemns Israeli decision to build 930 housing units
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Secretary General of Islamic-Christian Committee for Support of Jerusalem and holy sites Hanna Issa denounced the decision of Israeli Ministry of Housing and Municipality to build 930 settlement units in Jabal Abu Ghneim (Har Homa).
Dr. Issa said in a press statement on Sunday that this decision proves the continuation of settlement construction and expansion by the occupation forces.
He stressed that the presence of settlers and settlements in the West Bank and the eastern part of Jerusalem represents a violation of the Palestinian people’s rights and a flagrant breach of the resolutions of international legitimacy, which condemn all forms of settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories.
He also warned that Israel aims to increase the Jewish population in the Palestinian territories through building thousands of new settlement units for the Jewish immigrants.
“The recent Israeli construction in the occupied territories gives the occupation forces new opportunity to continue its plans to Judaize occupied Palestine through settlement activities, which has continued since the nineteenth century,” Dr. Hanna Issa added in his statement.
He stressed that giving orders for building more settlement units violates the international humanitarian law.
