’Israeli’ Army Shoots Palestinian, Arrests 10 in WB Raids

“Israeli” soldiers shot a Palestinian youth in the chest after raiding the Qalandiya refugee camp early Friday, medics said.
The victim, in his 20s, was taken to the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah where he underwent surgery, medics stated.
Locals said “Israeli” forces raided the camp, between Ramallah and Occupied al-Quds, at around 1:00 am. Palestinians spilled onto the streets to confront the occupation forces who fired live ammunition and plastic-coated bullets at them.
Meanwhile, “Israeli” forces detained 10 Palestinians in a series of early-morning raids across the West Bank.
An “Israeli” military spokesman said eight people were detained in al-Mazraa al-Sharqiya, a village north of Ramallah.
Locals said forces raided several homes in the village and detained Bilal Ijaq, Bayan Zein, Adel Shalabi, Imad Shalabi, Samid Hijaz, Hashim Hijaz, Jakim Shalabi and Adnan Abu Alia.
In parallel, the Zionist soldiers also detained one person from Kifl Haris, near Qalqiliya, and another from Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem, the army spokesman said.
In Aida camp, forces detained 23-year-old Mazen Bassam Abu Khdeir during a raid on his home, locals stated.
“Israel” notifies the demolition of 30 Palestinian houses south of al-Khalil
AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Israeli occupation authorities notified the demolition of thirty Palestinian homes and properties in the village of Susia in al-Khalil, south of the West Bank.
Jabour Rateb, coordinator of the Popular Committee against Settlement in Yatta, stated that the occupation handed demolition notices to thirty Palestinian houses, facilities and agricultural properties in the village of Susia, noting that these houses are inhabited by 250 Palestinians.
Jabour pointed to the occupation’s attempts to deport residents of the village and annex their lands to the settlement of Susia.
Israeli authorities are planning to build 900 settlement units in the south of the city of al-Khalil. These projects will be concentrated near the small outposts scattered in the south of the West Bank, in an attempt to legitimize them.
Israeli occupation demolishes properties in Tubas
TUBAS, (PIC)–The Israeli occupation authorities on Thursday began demolishing Palestinian installations and agricultural properties in Tubas in the occupied West Bank, under the pretext they were built without license and in a military zone.
Atef Bani Odeh, an employee of the municipality of Tammoun, said Israeli occupation soldiers, accompanied by bulldozers and staff from the Israeli Planning and Building Committee, stormed on Thursday afternoon the area of Peki’in and began demolishing six agricultural installations and huts belonging to Palestinian citizens.
Deputy Mayor stated that the owners of these properties had received a month ago notifications ordering them to evacuate the area claiming it is a military zone that belongs to the occupation government. However, they obtained a few days ago an Israeli Court injunction ordering the authorities to halt the implementation of the notifications, but the occupation forces paid no notice to the court injunction and went ahead with demolitions.
He pointed out that the Israeli soldiers attacked the Palestinians and did not allow them to save their personal belongings and livestock from the demolition.
Bani Odeh added that “Before their withdrawal from the region, the occupation forces demolished another Palestinian house in the neighboring area of Hadidiya,” pointing out that the occupation seeks to expel Palestinians from the region in order to facilitate the confiscation of lands.
Occupation starts building the largest synagogue in the West Bank
BETHLEHEM, (PIC)– Palestinian sources said the Israeli authorities began to build the largest synagogue in the West Bank on the foot of Daniel settlement built on Palestinian lands in Bethlehem in an area close to the south of occupied Jerusalem.
Sohail Khalilia, director of settlement’s control unit at the Institute of Applied Research ARIJ in Bethlehem, reported that the settlers have begun to build a synagogue in an outpost, that will be transformed into a settlement to be added to Gush Etzion settlement complex
Khalilia said in a press statement on Thursday: “The Palestinians have become trapped from all sides, in light of this settlement expansion and the implementation of the settlement schemes.”
He pointed out that the Jewish rabbis have called for the construction of the synagogues in the occupied West Bank in an attempt to impose a fait accompli on the ground and reinforce the Jewish presence in the region.
IOA approves the establishment of 70 new housing units
NAZARETH, (PIC)– Israeli Occupation Authorities (IOA) approved Wednesday the establishment of dozens of new housing units in Har Homa settlement in occupied Jerusalem on the eve of the visit by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to the region, Israeli media sources revealed.
A sub-committee of the Jerusalem District Planning and Construction Committee on Wednesday gave definitive approval for a plan to build 2 building consisting of 69 housing units in Har Homa in Jabal Abu Ghoneim in southern occupied Jerusalem, Walla Hebrew website stated.
The 2 buildings are 7-storey buildings that contain 33 and 36 housing units, in addition to underground parking for each one.
Israeli authorities escalated settlement construction mainly in the eastern part of occupied Jerusalem through extending the Israeli settlements.
US Secretary of State John Kerry is due to arrive to the region on Thursday in an attempt to get direct Israeli-Palestinian talks going.
It is worth mentioning that Israel has refused the Palestinian demands to halt West Bank settlement activity and settlement building in east Jerusalem as a precondition to resuming talks.
IOA bulldozes vast areas in Bethlehem
BETHLEHEM, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) bulldozed vast tracts of Palestinian land in Wadi Rahal area in Bethlehem on Thursday.
Abdullah Ziyada, the Wadi Rahal municipality council chairman, said that five Israeli bulldozers, escorted by Israeli army troops, launched bulldozing operation in Khilat Al-Nahal land.
He said that the destruction did not spare hothouses, fences, and cultivated land lots.
The chairman pointed out that IOA served demolition notices to other land owners in the same area about a month ago after claiming that the land was confiscated.
