Palestine: Twenty olive trees chop down & fishermen boats attacked

Jewish settlers chop down 20 olive trees

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Jewish settlers chopped down 20 olive trees in Beit Ummar village, north of Al-Khalil, on Thursday morning.

Mohammed Awad, the coordinator of the popular committee against settlement in the village, told Quds Press that settlers from Beit Ayin settlement destroyed 20 olive trees owned by Hammad Salibi.

He said that Salibi could not control himself when he saw his three-year old trees chopped down and broke down in tears.

Awad said that it was not the first time as Jewish settlers had ruined hundreds of olive, almond, and grape trees five years ago, adding that complaints were filed with Israeli police and the attacks were documented, but to no avail.

Jewish associations call for storming Al-Aqsa Mosque next Sunday

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Jewish associations and rightist extremist organizations, concerned with the establishment of the alleged temple, called for organizing marches in front of the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and storming it, next Sunday.

The call came as a response to the prevention of Jews from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli police on Thursday, which marked the Isra and Mi’raj anniversary.

The Jewish organizations and associations urged its members to “walk around the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque” and at the Buraq wall and courtyard.

Israeli navy fires toward fishermen boats, arrests two of them

GAZA, (PIC)– Israeli Navy gunboats opened fired at dawn, toward Palestinian fishing boats off the north-western shores of the Gaza Strip and arrested two fishermen.

Palestinian marine police told PIC correspondent that the Israeli navy opened heavy artillery fire at Palestinian fishing boats and forced fishermen to return to the four nautical miles area instead of six miles. No injuries were reported.

In the same context, Israeli Navy forces arrested two fishermen while fishing in the Gaza Strip Waters.

Sources in the Marine Police confirmed that the Israeli Navy gunboats chased and fired towards a fishing boat and arrested the two fishermen Marwan al-Saidi and Hassan Ali Murad and confiscated their boat.

Israeli forces escalated their violations of the truce agreement between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation army under Egyptian mediation, where 5 Palestinians were martyred, dozens were injured, in addition to the confiscation of several fishing boats since November 2012.
