“Israel” supplies Gaza hospitals with killer gas

Palestinian sources say the Israeli regime has supplied Gaza hospitals with a potentially killer gas to be used for anesthetic purposes, Press TV reports.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza said Israel, which is the sole supplier of nitrous oxide gas to Gaza hospitals, gave them carbon dioxide gas posing as nitrous oxide.

Four patients have died after inhaling carbon dioxide instead of nitrous oxide during surgical operations.

Gaza Health Minister Ashraf al-Qudra described the Tel Aviv regime’s move an “unethical crime,” saying, “We hold the Israeli regime fully responsible for endangering the lives of our patients.”

“This is another attempt by Israel to make life harder for the people of Gaza amid the ongoing blockade. Israel is the sole supplier of nitrous gas and there is no one else to blame but the Israeli occupation,” al-Qudra added.

Nitrous oxide mixed with oxygen is given to patients to ease the pain and induce sleep prior to surgeries. Experts say replacing nitrous oxide with carbon dioxide will cause cardiac arrest and can lead to death.

According to human rights organizations, hundreds of Gazans have died in past years as a direct result of the choking Israeli blockade.

Al-Dameer Association for Human Rights has called for an international investigation into what it described as a new Israeli crime.

“Israel is known for its crimes against Palestinian patients and the health sectors for many years and we all know that it has been doing experiments on Palestinian prisoners,” Samer Mousa of al-Dameer told Press TV.

“So the switching of medical gas does not come as surprise for us. We are calling on the World Health Organization and the Red Cross to make a thorough investigation into this case,” he added.

IOA builds road for its settlers in Al-Khalil

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) started on Monday morning to build a road for the settlers aimed at connecting Kiryat Arba settlement with the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil city.

Local sources told Quds Press that an Israeli bulldozer heavily guarded by soldiers embarked on leveling the area where the road is going to be paved later in order to facilitate the arrival of the Jewish settlers at the Ibrahimi Mosque.

They warned that in addition to the main road of Kiryat Arba settlement and its wall, the creation of this road would make the homes of Da’nna family, where 30 Palestinians live, besieged from three sides.

They also added that the IOA would seize dozens of dunums of land belonging to Jaber family in order to establish this road.

In a separate incident on Sunday evening, a group of Jewish settlers escorted by soldiers pitched a tent on a piece of Palestinian land near Beit Ummar town in Al-Khalil city in an attempt to impose a fait accompli by seizing it, according to eyewitnesses.

Israeli MK storms Al-Aqsa Mosque to prepare for her wedding ceremony

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Israeli MK Tzipi Hotovely on Sunday morning stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by a number of Jewish settlers.

Hebrew media sources said that the MK and Deputy Minister of transportation Hotovely stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, accompanied by members of her family, for the purposes of coordination for her wedding ceremony which will be held tomorrow in Al-Aqsa courtyards.

The Israeli channel 7 quoted Hotovely as saying “”Ascending to the Temple Mount is important to me on a personal level because of my wedding to be held tomorrow… This is the most sacred place for the Jewish people, and all Jews should be free to access it”, as she said.

The MK noted that her visit was coordinated in advance with the police commander, and described the prevention of the Israeli public figures from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque as “improper”.
