IOF troops destroy al-Karame village

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces (IOF) destroyed on Monday al-Karame village established by activists on land threatened with confiscation in Beit Iksa village to the north west of occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources said that 300 IOF soldiers broke into the village and wreaked havoc on it, destroying its mosque, generators, computers, and tents.

The coordinator of the popular committee against the wall and settlement north west of occupied Jerusalem, Nabil Hababa, told Quds Press that the soldiers completely destroyed the village and confiscated the tents.

He charged the soldiers with deliberately damaging possessions, and added that the soldiers detained around 100 activists in an open area near to the destroyed village.

Hababa said that the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) imposed a curfew on Beit Iksa after violent confrontations took place with inhabitants of nearby villages who rushed to aid al-Karame activists.

He said that the soldiers besieged the village in an attempt to block return of activists to it.

Al-Karame was established on part of the 12000 dunums of the land of Beit Iksa that is threatened with confiscation. The total area of Beit Iksa is 14000 dunums.

IOF troops stormed the village for the fifth time on Sunday night and delivered demolition notifications to activists in it.

IOF soldiers destroyed a similar village called Bab Eshams to the east of occupied Jerusalem last Thursday on what the IOA calls the E-1 project after a verdict to that effect was passed by the Israeli higher court.

Palestinian farmer wounded in IOF shooting

GAZA, (PIC)– A Palestinian farmer was injured at the hands of Israeli occupation forces (IOF) while working in his field in Beit Hanun, in the northern Gaza Strip, on Monday.

Dr. Ashraf Al-Qudra, the health ministry’s spokesman, told the PIC that the farmer was hit with a bullet in his foot, describing his injuries as moderate.

The IOF soldiers routinely target farmers working in fields near the border fence surrounding Gaza in flagrant violation of the calm agreement reached under Egyptian patronage two months ago.

IOF troops bulldoze land, olive trees in Shufat

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces (IOF) bulldozed vast tracts of cultivated land in Shufat in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday to pave the way for constructing a road.

Local sources said that IOF soldiers used bulldozers to level 90 dunums of cultivated land in Ras suburb and destroyed many old, fruitful olive trees in the process.

They said that soldiers were deployed in the scene of the destruction to block citizens from approaching and to protect the bulldozers.
